Siri Pada

Siri Pada or Sri Pada is a 7360 ft mountain that is steeped in legend. Also known as Adam's Peak and Samanala Kanda it is made popular by the eeri shadow it casts at sunrise and the large 'footprint' on its summit.

Buddhist's believe that this is the footprint of the Buddha, Hindu's say it belongs to Shiva,  while other legends say this was the foot print of Adam - the first man according to Islamic and Christian creation stories.

Today thousands make the climb during the night to witness the magnificent sunrise from the top of Sri Lanka's second highest peak. The Sri Pada season is from December to April.
