The Sabaragamuwa perahera -- The
pagent of the Getabaru Raja Maha Viharaya, Kotapola in the
southwest of the country.
Vesak - Buddhists
commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. Lanterns
made of paper and bamboo strips are hung in gardens and large pandols
are put up in town centres.
Pandols tell the stories of the buddha
and are masterpieces of colour and light.
